Close out with received records

Not every producer filmed the content they keep records for. If you licensed, purchased, or took on content that someone else produced, the records you hold are copies that the original producer gave you. Close-out has a lane for exactly that situation, so what you sign matches what you actually did.

The provenance choice#

When you close out a scene, the dialog asks where this scene's age-verification records come from. There are two choices:

• Filmed by me. You collected the records and personally examined each performer's government-issued photo ID. This is the lane described in Close out a scene, and nothing about it has changed.
• Records received from another producer. The producer who made the content collected the original records and gave you copies, along with their name and address.

Pick the one that is true for this scene. The attestation you sign, and what your public compliance link says afterwards, both follow from this choice.

Closing out with received records#

   Choose how you hold the records

   In the close-out dialog, under "Where do this scene's age-verification records come from?", choose "Records received from another producer". The rest of close-out, including the model release gate, works the same in both lanes.

   Name the primary producer

   Fill in "Primary producer name" and "Primary producer address". This is the producer who made the content and collected the original records. Both fields are required before you can close out in this lane, and both are kept in the scene record alongside your attestation.

   Sign the attestation

   The attestation for this lane reads:

   "I attest that I hold copies of the age-verification records for each performer appearing in this scene, received from the primary producer named in this record, and that I maintain the name and address of that primary producer."

   It is recorded with a timestamp and your IP address, the same way the examination attestation is.

   Confirm

   Close-out seals the record in this lane too. The attestation, the primary producer's name and address, and the closed status are recorded together, and a closed scene is not reopened. Sealed is not frozen: a depiction published later can still be added with a short statement of why it arrives after close, and published URLs stay editable. Correcting a closed scene covers what changes and what does not.

What your compliance link shows#

The public page for a scene closed this way states its provenance on its face. It says the age-verification records for the scene are held as copies received from the primary producer named in the record, and that the primary producer's name and address are maintained with those records. The statement is attributed to you, the producer who closed the scene, so anyone reading the page sees how the records are held and who says so.

The primary producer's name and address are not printed on that page. They are kept on the record, the same way performers' legal names and ID images are kept off it. The public page shows how records are held; it is not the records themselves.

What Easy2257 does, and what it does not#

Easy2257 is a recordkeeping service. In this lane it records your attestation, the primary producer name and address you entered, and the time and IP address of your signature. That is the whole of what it does.

It does not examine the copies you hold, verify that they are complete or accurate, confirm anything about the primary producer, or judge whether either lane fits your situation. It records what you attest; it does not make the attestation true.
