Billing, switching and cancelling
Changing plans, cancelling, finding invoices, and what happens to your records either way.
Both switching and cancelling are self-serve. The part worth reading first is what happens to your records: nothing. They are retained either way, under the same rules as always.
Switching plans
Plans live under Billing in your profile: your current plan, your payment method, and the available plans with a monthly or annual toggle. Current pricing is on the pricing page.
How a switch lands depends on its direction:
- Upgrading takes effect immediately. You are charged the new plan's price at once and your billing period restarts from that moment. Unused time on the old plan is not credited, so the start of a billing period is the economical moment to upgrade, and the end of one is not.
- Downgrading to a cheaper subscription swaps the price without a new charge.
- Switching to per-scene ends your subscription immediately, not at the end of the period, and remaining subscription time is forfeited. If you have paid for a month you intend to use, make the switch when the period ends. From then on you pay per scene activation, with no recurring charge.
Moving from monthly to annual on the same plan works like an upgrade.
Cancelling
Cancel through Manage Billing on the billing page, which opens your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: the billing page will show the end date, and you keep full access until then.
There is no retention offer and no exit interview. Cancelling is as clear as subscribing.
When the period ends, the account moves to the per-scene plan on its own. Nothing locks: your records stay where they are, and if you activate a scene later you simply pay for that scene. Before the period ends is the right time to pull a final archive; it costs a few minutes and puts your complete records in your own hands.
What happens to your records
Records are retained regardless of plan state, on the schedule the law sets, with the detail at retention and deletion. Cancelling changes what you pay, not what is kept.
Invoices and receipts
Two kinds of paper exist:
- Receipts by email, sent when a subscription starts or renews and when a scene activation is charged.
- Invoices and billing history, in the billing portal behind Manage Billing: every past charge, with downloadable invoices.
If you need billing documents to say something the standard invoice does not, contact support with a Billing Question and say what the document needs to show.
Refunds
If Easy2257 is not what you need, ask and your first payment will be refunded. Ask through contact with a Billing Question; later payments are not refunded.
A refunded or disputed charge does not touch your records. Compliance records follow retention rules, not payment state.
